NOTICE OF ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A VARIANCE REQUEST

Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to take comments on the following variance request.

The applicant, Mr. Jonathon Wood, on behalf of Variety Die & Stamping is requesting the following variances in order install three (3) directional signs at 2221 Bishop Circle East, Dexter, MI 48130 (08-08-07-125-024):

1. A 8.7 square foot variance from the 2-square foot maximum sign area per side for a directional sign required by Article VII, Section 7.02.E.1, of the City of Dexter Zoning Ordinance.

The applicant is requesting the variances due to practical difficulties associated with the property. If granted, the maximum sign area per side allowed would be 10.7 square feet.

The application is available for public inspection at the City Offices, 3515 Broad Street, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on the city website, www.dextermi.gov. Any questions regarding the variance application should be directed to the Office of Community Development at 734-580-2235.

Interested parties are welcome to join the virtual public hearing and present their comments. Written comments regrinding the variance request should be submitted to the Office of Community Development at the address listed above or via email to [email protected]. All written comments must be received no later than close of business the day of the meeting.

A sign language interpreter, or other assistance, may be provided upon request to the City Clerk [email protected], at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting. Minutes of all meetings are available on the City website, www.dextermi.gov.
