Dexter Field Hockey Blanks Pinckney, Ties Saline

It was a big week for the Dexter field hockey team, as the Dreadnaughts rolled past Pinckney 8–0 and followed it up with a hard-fought 2–2 tie against rival Saline. The results pushed Dexter’s record to 11-3-4 overall and 2-0-2 in the SEC Red.

Dexter 8, Pinckney 0

Dexter wasted no time taking control against Pinckney, scoring five goals in the first half and adding three more in the second on their way to a dominant 8–0 win. The Dreads piled up 17 corners while holding the Pirates to just one and outshot them by a wide margin.

Freshman Flora Klick led the scoring with two goals and four points, while senior Claire Dubuque added two goals and an assist. Seniors Aiden Weinmann and Addison Zogaib, junior Vivian Hoffman, and senior Alli St. Amour also scored for Dexter.

Goalkeepers Audrey Owen-Smith and Ella Walsh shared time in net, combining for a two-save shutout.

Dexter 2, Saline 2

In a tough SEC matchup earlier in the week, Dexter and Saline battled to a 2–2 tie. The Dreads came out strong, with senior Addison Zogaib scoring the opening goal off an assist from junior Avery Schaieb. Senior K. Marcinkowski added a goal in the second quarter, assisted by Zogaib, to give Dexter a 2–1 lead at halftime.

Saline tied the game in the second half, and both teams finished with five corners and strong defensive play down the stretch.

Senior goalie Owen-Smith finished with seven saves for the Dreads.
