The Dexter soccer team advanced to the D2 district semifinals with a convincing 4-0 shutout of Jackson Northwest last week.
The Dreadnaughts pressured the Mountie all night, keeping Northwest scoring chances to a minimum.
Dexter went on top eight minutes in when Tyler Craig found the net for a 1-0 lead.
The Dreads struck twice in just over two minutes when Craig scored his second of the game and Andrew Barbaro followed with a goal of his own to make it 3-0.
The score remained that way until late in the second half when Craig took a short kick on a corner and worked his way into the box and drilled it home for the hat trick of three goals and a 4-0 final.
Dexter improved to 5-12-2 overall on the season. They face a strong Mason team in the semifinals Tuesday and with a win would advance to the district finals Thursday at Mason.
