The Dexter softball team wrapped up its best conference season since joining the SEC Red by finishing in second place.

The Dreadnaughts opened the week by splitting a doubleheader with Bedford.

Dexter took the opener 6-2 behind the five-hit pitching of Audrey Gauthier. She finished with nine strikeouts in the circle for the win.

A Mallory Brandt two run single in the first inning put the Dreads up 3-0 and a Lizzie Lewis two-run homer in the fourth made it 5-0 and Gauthier would do the rest for the Dreadnaughts win.

Lewis finished with two hits, with the home run and two RBI.

Brandt and Clara Lamb had a hit and two RBI each, while Ella Mitchell, Roni Wilson, and Eleni Michos had a hit and run scored each.

The Dreadnaughts dropped the second game 9-8.

Gauthier struck out seven and allowed six hits for the win in the circle.

Dexter took a pair of games from strong opponents at the Chelsea quad Thursday.

The Dreadnaughts opened with a 7-1 win over Fowlerville.

Three straight RBI singles by Lamb, Wilson, and Ohlman put the Dreads up 3-0 and Michos drove in two more later in the inning to give Dexter a 5-0 lead in the first and they would never look back.
