The Foundation for Saline Area Schools is entering a new chapter after a year of grants, fundraising and community support for students and teachers.

Stacey Rumpsa, outgoing executive director, and Angela Bruski, incoming executive director, presented the foundation’s year-end update to the Saline Board of Education on June 9.

The nonprofit provides private funding for academic projects, enrichment programs and other activities that support education in the district. Its grants also help seed educational initiatives that cannot be funded through the general budget.

Rumpsa, who is retiring at the end of June, said she has spent four years with the foundation after previously working 10 years at Harvest Elementary.

“I am deeply proud of the foundation and the Saline Area Schools district and of the meaningful opportunities they provide for our students,” Rumpsa said.

Bruski, who lives in Saline and has three children in the district, said she began working with Rumpsa in May to help make the transition smooth.

“I look forward to continuing the great work that the foundation has done for so long,” Bruski said.

The foundation reported $75,000 in committed sponsorships and in-kind support from 39 sponsors this year. Its fall luncheon and Dueling Pianos event brought in a combined $115,000 in net profit.

Rumpsa said the foundation’s board of trustees approved $110,000 in grant funding this year and awarded 36 grants.

The foundation also announced its 2026 Hall of Fame inductees: Dolly Collins and Scott Theisen as distinguished educators, Dominic Dorset and Jeffrey Nadig as distinguished alumni, and Greg and Lisa Rentschler in the distinguished alum and service category.

The organization is also looking ahead to its 40th anniversary, with upcoming events including the alumni golf outing, Saline Summerfest, Homecoming parade, Hall of Fame, fall luncheon, Saline Holiday Parade and Dueling Pianos.

“It has been an amazing ride,” Rumpsa said. “I cannot thank you enough.”
