Freedom Township Resident Announces his Candidacy for Board of Trustees

August Primary, Freedom Township

In announcing his candidacy for the Freedom Township Board of Trustees, Shaun Andring said it’s his love for the place he and his family call home and his commitment to doing his part to help protect the quality of life there that’s led him to seek a seat on the board.

Andring reached out to the Sun Times News with his announcement.

It begins with:

“Republican Shaun Andring, a resident of Freedom Township, has announced his candidacy for a Trustee position on the Freedom Township Board of Trustees. Shaun and his wife have owned property in Freedom Township for 11 years, built their home, and have lived there eight years. They are the proud parents of three children. They love living in Freedom Township and Shaun is committed to doing his part to help protect the quality of life Freedom Township residents enjoy.”

Andring said, “I look forward to participating on the Board and being part of the decision-making team that leads Freedom Township into its future. This is my family’s home for many years to come so my commitment to the future of my family and fellow Freedom Township residents is strong.”

Noting that he’s uniquely qualified for a township trustee position, he said his work experience includes management, budget management, business development, account management and sales management. Other characteristics used to describe Andring are “seasoned leader, high energy worker with excellent communication and management skills.”

He’s a graduate of Central Michigan University.

“There is no doubt that Freedom Township will continue to feel more outside pressures as people and businesses seek expanding opportunities and properties west and southwest of Ann Arbor,” Andring said in his announcement. “I believe I have the experience, initiative, and commitment to help guide such growth in Freedom Township while at the same time, protecting our values, properties, and resources. Township residents will be able to count on me to act in the best interests of them and Freedom Township.”

If you’re interested in contacting him, he can be reached at andringforfreedomtownship@gmail.com and at Andring For Freedom Township Trustee on Facebook.

The primary vote is Tuesday, Aug. 6.
