AMENDMENT TO SEWER USE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE SEWER DISTRICT OF THE

MULTI LAKE AREA WATER & SEWER AUTHORITY

REGULATION NO. 1-F, SEWER AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Rules and Regulations enacted pursuant to the authority of Act 246 of the Public Acts of 1945, as amended, Act 191 of the Public Acts of 1939, as amended, Act 233 of the Public Acts of 1955, as amended, and Act 368 of the Public Acts of 1978, as amended, by the Multi Lake Area Water and Sewer Authority and with the concurrence by resolution and ordinance of its constituent municipalities to regulate private and public sewers, sewer connections, industrial waste pretreatment facilities and discharge of industrial waste into the Multi Lakes Water and Sewer Authority publicly-operated treatment works and to provide for pollutant limitations, data collection, monitoring and sampling and to preserve, promote and protect the health, safety and general welfare of the persons and property within Dexter, Lyndon, Putnam and Unadilla Townships; to provide for the enforcement hereof; and to provide penalties and remedies for the violation hereof.

The Multi Lakes Area Water and Sewer Authority with the concurrence of its constituent municipalities the Townships of Dexter and Lyndon, County of Washtenaw, and Putnam and Unadilla Townships, County of Livingston, State of Michigan, ordains:

Sec. 1.0  Amendment

The MULTI LAKES AREA WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY, Rules and Regulations, No. 1 andamendments thereto, as previously adopted, are hereby amended by the addition of the following provision:

18.0     Rates and Charges for Authority Services; specifically 18.2 (2nd paragraph)

The Authority may institute charges on commercial, industrial and institutional units based on metered water use.  “Commercial businesses are not limited to but shall include short-term rental units and bed and breakfast lodging sites”. Meters shall be installed to Authority requirements and remain accessible for inspection and reading by an Authority representative.  All cost of installing meters . . . . . . . .

Sec. 2.0           The remaining Sections of Rules and Regulations No. 1 and its amendments not inconsistent herewith are ratified and reaffirmed.

Sec. 4.0           Effective Date

This Amendment to Rules and Regulations No. 1 shall become effective thirty (30) days after its adoption by the Township Boards and the Authority Board.

30 days after adoption by printing the same in the Sun Times on December 31, 2025.
