The Milan Girls Varsity Track and Field team capped off a stellar season in the Huron League with a victory at the League Meet on May 19, which gave them a 14-0 record on the season in the league.
At the league meet, Milan Coach Noah Genson said the 4X200 team of Madison Lancaster, Jada Stines, Kaily McDaniel and Angelina Wilson were league champs while Wilson was also a league champion in the 400. Addison Ostrom had her best performance of the year in the discus, Genson said, placing second with a throw of 95 feet, 7 inches.
Stines also placed second in the 100 meter dash with a personal best time of 12.89 seconds while Lancaster placed second in long jump with a personal best jump of 15 feet 2 inches and second in the 400. McDaniel placed second in both 100 and 300 meter hurdles.

Genson said Amerie Wilson took third in the 800, which “was a huge finish as she was ranked 8th coming into the meet.”
She also ran a personal best time of 2:32.87
Milan’s 4X400 team of Angelina, Amerie, Kaily and Madison ran a 4:17 to take second.
Looking back and what the team has done, Genson said it was “An amazing year from an even more amazing group of girls.”

“This was a group of competitors and they never let a ranking before a meet define them,” Genson said. “They also stepped up to the challenge and gave it their all every single meet. I could not be more proud of the things we accomplished this season.”
The remaining schedule for the Milan Girls has the 4×400 team competing at the state meet in Hamilton on the 30th.
