Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Discharge
This notification is required under Michigan Act 451, Public Acts of 1994, as amended, Part 31. The Sun Times News is the largest daily newspaper that serves the Northville Crossing area.
What Happened?
A low-level float went out and a contactor fried at a lift station in Northville Crossing, causing a lift station failure that resulted in sewage overflow through a manhole cover and into a residential yard. There was no surface water discharge. Powered lime was spread around the discharge site. The low-level float and both contactors have been replaced within the lift station.
When did the SSO discharge occur?
Overflow began on 08/03 at approximately 12:00pm. Overflow ended 08/04.
Where did the SSO discharge occur?
The overflow occurred at 1273 Nottingham Dr. (in the Northville Crossing manufactured home community located at 9800 Bloomsbury Cir, Norville, MI 48167).
NORTHVILLE CROSSING is operating in compliance with its NPDES permit and applicable state and federal law.
