Northville Crossing MHC
Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Discharge
What Happened?
Mixed liquor overtopped the walls of the wastewater treatment plant at Northville Crossing MHC. Mixed liquor ran over the top of the walls and down the curb and gutter into the first storm sewer catch basin. The catch basin drains into the local retention pond. The volume discharged was estimated at 2,000 gallons. Both the grassy area around the wastewater treatment plant and the local retention pond were impacted. The plant operating team is evaluating lowering the overflow pipe 6” to avoid overtopping the walls due to a clogged system when aerating in the future.
When did the SSO discharge occur?
Overflow began on 08/10 at approximately 12:00am. Overflow ended on 08/11 at approximately 10:00am.
Where did the SSO discharge occur?
The overflow occurred at the wastewater treatment plant in the Northville Crossings Mobile Home Community located at 9800 Bloomsbury Cir, Northville, MI 48167.
