René Barth

René Barth, 70, of Kewanee, passed away into the open arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at her home.

She was born on May 3, 1955 in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Glen and Beverly (LaVasseur) Allen. She married Wayne E. Barth on March 23, 1974 in Pinkney, MI. Survivors include her husband Wayne, father Glen, her two daughters, Lisa (James) Webb and Sarah Handy (Scott Smith), siblings; Mary, Daniel, Martin, Laura, Nancy, John and Samantha, two grandchildren, Ashley and Alexander Webb and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and two sisters, Lynne and Rachel.

René attended Michigan State University in Lansing, MI and obtained her theology degree from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI. She was an ordained minister at the Open Arms Community Church in Kewanee and was currently a member of Encounter Church in East Peoria, IL. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, sewing, embroidering and crocheting. She especially loved her family and cherished the time spent with them.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
