NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – DECEMBER 8, 2025 AT 6:00 PM

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of Sharon Township will hold a Public Hearing Tuesday, December 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Sharon Township Hall 18010 Pleasant Lake Rd, Manchester, MI 48158 on the following:

Special Land Use – Preliminary Determination of the Need and Public Interest in natural resources proposed to be extracted to inform decision on “no very serious consequences”.

Amrize Great Lakes, Inc. has proposed expanding their current mineral extraction operation by 121.83 acres on 4 parcels for an overall operation of 218.12 acres along M-52 and Peckins Road. The parcels proposed for expansion have the addresses 6900 & 7000, M-52, and parcel ID numbers: 15-11-400-002, 15-11-400-003, 15-11-400-004, 15-11-400-005.

A copy of the petitioner’s request may be examined at the Township Office during business hours from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Thursdays or online at www.sharontownship.org. Written comments concerning this request will be received in person or by mail at/to the Township office or via email to [email protected] from the date of this publication until the date of the Public Hearing.
