Sylvan Twp: Notice of Public Hearing 5/13/25

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE

CONDITIONAL TRANSFER OF PROPERTY TO

LIMA TOWNSHIP

To:       THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF SYLVAN TOWNSHIP AND TO ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS: 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Sylvan Township Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, commencing at 7:00 p.m. at the Sylvan Township Hall, 18027 Old US 12, Chelsea, MI 48118, to consider the following:

  1. A proposed Conditional Land Transfer Agreement pursuant to Public Act 425 of 1984, if approved, will govern the conditional transfer of five (5) parcels located within Sylvan Township to Lima Township; the parcels are identified as follows: F -06-24-200-011; F -06-24-100-002; F -06-24-100-001; F -06-24-100-005; F -06-24-200-010

The Township Board reserves the right to amend the proposed Conditional Land Transfer Agreement at the public hearing.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the parcels identified above will be part of an Economic Development Project Area that will include properties conditionally transferred from Lima Township to Sylvan Township under the same Conditional Land Transfer Agreement. This Agreement will also govern the conditional transfer of three (3) parcels from Lima Township to Sylvan Township. These three parcels are identified as follows: G -07-18-300-002; G -07-18-300-003; G -07-19-200-001. The Economic Development Project Area, among other things, includes potential expansion of public water and sewer and a joint municipal planning commission to control the planning and zoning for land usages in the Area.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that anyone interested in reviewing the proposed Conditional Land Transfer Agreement may request to examine a copy of the same at the Sylvan Township Hall during regular business hours and at the hearing.  

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that written comments will be received at the office of the Township Clerk in the office, by mail or email, and will further be received by the Township Board at the time of said hearing.

            PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that Sylvan Township will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the hearing to individuals with disabilities upon five (5) days’ notice to the Sylvan Township Clerk.

All persons are invited to be present at the aforesaid time and place to participate in discussion on the above.
