PUBLIC HEARING, MARCH 19, 2026

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed zoning text amendment (ZTA26-001) under the Municipal Code, Chapter 30 (Zoning Ordinance) adding wording that will allow the Township Board the authority to approve and the Township Planning Commission the authority to recommend the establishment of a temporary moratorium as to the application of provisions of the Township Zoning Ordinance to the Township Board.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Planning Commission meeting will be held in person in the Board Room at the Township Offices 18027 Old US 12, Chelsea, MI 48118.  The public may also view/hear the meeting through Zoom access by computer and smart phone using the following link:

The public may only speak during the public hearing and during public comment by being physically present at the meeting. Such comments will be limited to three minutes per person for each item. Written comments may also be sent to the township offices at 18027 Old US 12, Chelsea, Michigan 48118-9673 prior to the public hearing will also be received by the Planning Commission at the meeting before close of the public hearing.

This notice is posted in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, Public Act 267 of 1976, as amended, (MCL 41.72a(2)(3)) and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Planning Commission will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting or public hearing upon four (4) days notice to the Sylvan Zoning Administrator.
