ALI Michigan concludes its Fall 2025 season with five November classes:
- Bill O’Reilly, a lifelong Beatles fan, has gathered stories and photos for a visual and musical presentation: The Beatles—Stories Behind the Songs. Bill will take you behind the scenes, sharing what inspired them, the meanings behind the lyrics, and how they evolved. This In-person class is free, offered in cooperation with the Chelsea District Library where it will meet one Saturday, Nov. 1. Those interested must register by calling the Chelsea District Library at 734-475-8732, ext. 219.
- After moving into a 1920’s house in Ann Arbor’s Old West Side, Grace Shackman began her study of towns and historical places in Western Washtenaw County. She continues her series of ALI classes with a History of Saline and Manchester, in which she explains how these two towns differ. This in-person class is presented in cooperation with Washtenaw Community College, and will be held on two Wednesdays, Nov. 5 and 12 at the Manchester District Library.
- Jasen A. King, a paranormal enthusiast, will trace local legends and ghost stories back to actual events with Chelsea Area Ghost Stories, Legends, and Historical Events. The in-person class will be held on three Thursdays, Nov. 6, 13, and 20, at the Chelsea Retirement Community, Dancey Bldg.
- Tamara El-Khatib, the owner of Syrian Soul Catering will host a cooking class focused on Mediterranean Savory Pies. This in-person demonstration and tasting class will be held on two Fridays, Nov. 7 and 14, at the Chelsea Retirement Community, Dancey Bldg.
- After attorney Peter Van Hoek retired, he and his wife found time to indulge their love of travel. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Peter will share one of the most interesting vacations he has experienced in Travelogue through New Zealand. In this in-person & ZOOM class at the Chelsea State Bank (Downtown Office), Peter will concentrate on New Zealand’s history, the Maori indigenous people, the current culture, and incredible scenery in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
