Consumers are being urged to stop using certain LED Fireplace Lanterns due to serious safety risks. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of these lanterns, which fail to meet federal safety standards for products with coin batteries. The lithium coin battery in the remote control can be accessed easily by children, posing a risk of ingestion that could lead to severe injury or even death.
The recall affects models SP-14, SP-55, SP-66, and SP-78, imported by Green Pastures Wholesale. Approximately 1,250 units were sold between January and April 2025 at various wholesale locations and online, priced between $13 and $25. No incidents or injuries have been reported so far.
Consumers should immediately remove the battery from the lanterns’ remote control and ensure it is out of children’s reach. Green Pastures Wholesale is offering a full refund and will provide a shipping label for returns. For assistance, contact them at 855-787-7429 or visit their website.
