Lima Twp: Board Meeting Synopsis 8/11/25

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Members present: Supervisor Bill VanRiper, Treasurer Nanette Havens, Clerk Ann Kwaske, Trustee Dale Luick. Absent: Trustee Greg McKenzie.

Motion by Luick, seconded by Kwaske, to approve the agenda as submitted. All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, seconded by Havens, to approve the consent agenda of Minutes of July 14 regular meeting, Payroll ($13,193.61) and Accounts Payable ($10,078.90) as submitted.  All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, seconded by Havens, to send Solar Energy Collections Systems, Large Ordinance back to Planning Commission with recommendation to consider making SES, WES, and ESS as special use as opposed to permitted use and to consider restricting the location to specific zoning districts.  All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, seconded by Luick, to table the Clements Cemetery transfer of ownership to Lima Township until Supervisor VanRiper speaks with the owner to address questions.  All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, seconded by VanRiper, to revise the Township Credit Card Use Policy to replace all instances of “Credit Card” with “Credit/Debit Card”, to authorize the Treasurer to open a petty cash bank account with a balance of $3,000, and to issue debit cards on that account to the Clerk and/or Office Manager. 3 ayes, 1 nay. Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, seconded by Havens, to amend the FY 2025-2026 budget per the recommendation dated July 28, 2025.  All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, seconded by Havens, to approve Ameriscan Imaging Services to scan the new Zoning files per their quote dated 8/8/2025. All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, seconded by Kwaske, to hire Seyfrieds Lawncare Solutions for an initial mowing of Lima Depot at $140 and then weekly mowing for $62 per their quotes dated 8/11/2025. All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Havens, seconded by Luick, to adjourn.  All ayes.  Motion passed.
