Lima Twp: Special Board Meeting Synopsis, 02-27-2025

Meeting called to order at 1:32pm.  Members present: Supervisor Bill VanRiper, Treasurer Nanette Havens, Clerk Ann Kwaske, Trustee Dale Luick, Trustee Greg McKenzie.  Also present: Township Attorney Victor Lillich.

Motion to approve the agenda with modification of “Purchase agreement” to read “Purchase agreement and Resolution 2025-04”.  Motion passed 5-0.

Motion to hire Linda White as interim secretary and for Linda to hold the position until two weeks past the start date of a new Office Manager in order to assist with the transition.  Motion passed 5-0.

Motion to approve the job description for Office Manager as presented today and direct the Clerk to post in the Sun Times, Chelsea Update, and on the Township website and other free media outlets.  Motion passed 5-0.

Motion to set the budget public hearing for 4pm on March 24, 2025.  Motion passed 5-0.

Resolution 2025-04 to Approve Purchase Agreement for 50 S Fletcher Road was offered by Treasurer Havens, supported by Trustee Luick. Resolution supported unanimously on a roll call vote.

Motion to authorize up to $40,000 for Phase I environmental assessment, property appraisal, engineering consultation on site suitability, and construction costs, and direct Supervisor VanRiper and Trustee McKenzie to seek and award proposals.  Motion passed 5-0.
