Recall Alert: Wei-Chuan Dried Black Fungus Slice

Consumers’ health and safety are at the forefront as Natureen International Inc. announces a recall of its Wei-Chuan Dried Black Fungus Slice (2.5 oz) due to potential Salmonella contamination. This recall impacts 244 bags distributed across several states including Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. The contaminated product, marked with lot number XJ17 and expiration date 20260417, poses a risk of serious infections, especially to young children and those with weakened immune systems.

The recall was initiated after the California Department of Public Health detected Salmonella, prompting an investigation by the FDA and the company. Although no illnesses have been reported, consumers are advised to return the product for a full refund.

Natureen International has halted production and urges those who purchased the affected product to contact them for more information at 626-961-9813 or through the Wei-Chuan Chicago Office at 708-352-8886 ext#5201. It’s crucial for consumers to check their pantries and ensure they do not consume this potentially hazardous product.
