Robert James Keezer

Robert James Keezer, 88, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, passed away at his home on January 24, 2026, following a short illness. He was born to Dale E. and Clarice B. (Wright) Keezer on May 6, 1937, the second of three sons. A graduate of Chelsea High School, Bob went on to get his degree from Eastern Michigan University. He taught at Clinton High School from 1962 to 1965 before starting a long career in the South Lyon School District. While there, Bob was a teacher, counselor and football coach. He coached for 17 years and was the South Lyon Athletic Director for five years. He and his wife, Helen, nee Hallberg, were married on August 3, 1973, and lived in Ann Arbor until they retired. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their many friends. Wintering in Chandler, Arizona, gave them the opportunity for golfing nearly year around. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Helen, four godchildren, an uncle, Marvin Keezer of Manchester, a sister-in-law, several nieces and one nephew, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Doris Heller, Nancy Merkel, Donald Clark, Richard Keezer and James Keezer, as well as several aunts and uncles and a niece. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, his avid interest in sports and his genuine interest in the students and football players he still kept in touch with. A Celebration of Life will be held in Park Rapids in May. The date will be announced at a later time.
