NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Michigan Public Act 33 of 2008, the Michigan Planning Enabling Act), as amended, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. the Sylvan Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive public comment on the proposed Master Plan update. This meeting will be held in the Township Board Room at 18027 Old U.S 12, Chelsea, MI 48118.
Sylvan Township’s Draft 2024 Master Plan Update is an amendment to the vision established in the Township’s 2017 Master Plan. As many of the elements of the 2017 Master Plan are still relevant, the draft amendment consists of only an update to the Future Land Use chapter and the Future Land Use Map of the 2017 Master Plan.
The 42-day review period for the master plan update will conclude on March 21, 2025. The Planning Commission will consider any comments received through this review, any additional comment provided prior to the Public Hearing and any comments made at the Public Hearing.

The public may only speak during the public hearing and during public comment by being physically present at the meeting. Such comments will be limited to three minutes per person for each item. Written comments may also be sent to the township offices at 18027 Old US 12, Chelsea, Michigan 48118-9673 prior to the public hearing will also be received by the Planning Commission at the meeting before close of the public hearing.
This notice is posted in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, Public Act 267 of 1976, as amended, (MCL 41.72a(2)(3)) and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Planning Commission will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting or public hearing upon four (4) days notice to the Sylvan Zoning Administrator.
