Three Dexter Pole Vaulters Earn All-State Honors at D1 Finals

The Dexter pole vaulting team continued its tradition of all-state honors after three Dreadnaughts earned top-eight places to earn spots on the podium at the D1 state track and field finals.

Clark Sheldon finished runner-up for the boys with a vault of 14’6”. Reece Emeott of East Kentwood cleared 15’3” to win the state title.

Benjamin Sackman just missed a top ten finish by finishing 12th with a vault of 13’6”

The girls had two earn all-state honors with sophomores Raiden Kipfmiller and Debbie McCaoy earning top eight spots.

Kipfmiller placed sixth with a vault of 11’6” and McCoy tied for eighth with a vault of 11’0 to put both on the medal stand for the Dreadnaughts.

Nine other Dreads competed at the state finals with the 4×800 relay team of Brandon Anderson, Vaughn Meyer, Julian Linebaugh, and Caleb Snyder finishing 11th for the boys.

Anderson also finished 16th in the 800 and 21st in the 1600, while Meyer was 18th in the 1600.

Lily Burns led the girls with a 14th-place finish in the shot put.

The 4×800 relay team of Kodie Snyder, Lillian Mitchell, Kate Varitek, and Annabel O’Haver finished 19th.
