DEWALT has issued an urgent recall for its Grinder Flap Discs, posing serious laceration and injury risks. The ceramic cloth abrasive flaps can detach during use, potentially causing harm.
This recall affects about 17,680 DEWALT Elite Grinder Series 4.5-inch 40G T27 High Density Flap Discs, specifically models DWA8280HRT and DWA8280RT. These products, made for heavy-duty use with angle grinders, were sold nationwide at industrial supply stores and online, including Amazon, from September 2024 through May 2025.
Consumers should stop using these discs immediately. To participate in the recall, visit DEWALT’s website, write “Recall” on the disc, and upload a photo. After certifying disposal, consumers will receive a refund.
DEWALT has reported three incidents of the discs coming apart, resulting in injuries like cuts and scrapes. For more information, contact DEWALT online or via their toll-free number.
