Dexter Track and Field Hosts April Showers Invite
Mike Williamson
The music of Kurt Weill, from the scabrous and satirical to the lush and lyrical, reveals a composer both at home with romping agitprop and keen attention to character. This concert will include music of Weill’s Berlin years as well as songs and choruses from his Broadway output in a new revue that celebrates the irrepressible aspects of Weill’s music and explores his place in the culturally shifting American landscape. Enjoy Vocal Arts Ensemble of Ann Arbor’s interpretations of Weill’s opera and musical theater in the beautiful Pendleton Room, and arrive before the show to enjoy appetizers and refreshments!
