Dexter High School Team Shines at State Trap Shooting Tournament

This past Saturday, members of the Michigan State High School League competed in the State Tournament at the Michigan Trap Shooting Association grounds in Mason, Michigan. The event saw participation from over 400 students representing their schools in the 1A Division.

The Dexter High School team, comprising students from 6th through 12th grade, secured 2nd place in their conference and received their award during the closing ceremonies. Accepting the team award were Kason Lambert (10th grade), Coach Bill Hoffman, and Nicholas Hoffman (10th grade).

Sophomore Kason Lambert distinguished himself by taking 2nd place in the individual male high shooter category in the 1A Division. Lambert shot an impressive 99/100 with a reverse run of 92, earning him a 75 straight award. His spring league average was 23.50, ranking 3rd on the Dexter team. His outstanding performance led to a personal best and a spot on the podium.

Next, the top shooters will compete at Nationals from July 11th to 14th, hosted again at the Michigan Trap Shooting Association in Mason. Participants must have a season average of 19 or higher out of 25.
