Erwin “Tiny” Egeler, 101 years old, went to be with the Lord.
Tiny passed away peacefully Saturday, August 30, 2025 at his farm with his family at his side. He was born July 20, 1924 to Lewis Henry Egeler and Laura Christine (Gutekunst) Egeler, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Tiny spent his childhood working alongside his parents and siblings on the family farm in Scio Township.
He married Anna May Stumpf on September 7, 1951 in Angola, Indiana. Tiny and Ann had four children, Charles, David, Randy and Cynthia. They purchased the family farm from his parents Lewis and Laura, which is where Tiny continued his love of farming along with his family. In addition to farming he enjoyed his work at Adair Printing. He was a real people person and enjoyed the Adair family and all of his co-workers.
Tiny loved hunting, harvesting moral mushrooms, a good farm auction, and an intense game of euchre. More than anything he loved his dogs, and they hung on his every word and loved him. He and his many stories and tall tales will be missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Laura; brothers, Robert, Raymond, twin Edwin, Douglas; and his son, Charles, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, David (Linda) Egeler, Randy Egeler; daughter Cynthia (Bill) High; granddaughters Sydney and Samantha; sister, May; cousin, Gladys; and many nieces and nephews.
Family, neighbors and friends will join together Wednesday, September 3, 2025, 11:00 am, at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Dexter, Michigan for a graveside service, with Reverend Larry VanSlambrook officiating. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Huron valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
