Lima Twp: Board Meeting Synopsis 10/13/25

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Members present: Supervisor Bill VanRiper, Treasurer Nanette Havens, Clerk Ann Kwaske, Trustee Dale Luick, Trustee Greg McKenzie.

Motion by Luick, seconded by Havens, to approve the agenda as submitted. All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, seconded Luick, to approve the consent agenda of Minutes of September 8 Regular Meeting, Minutes of September 25 Special Joint Meeting with Sylvan, Minutes of September 25 Special Meeting Closed Session, Minutes of October 1 Special Joint Meeting with Planning Commission, Payroll ($13,826.86) and Accounts Payable ($13,745.10) as submitted.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, seconded by Luick, to approve the Principal Use Energy Facility Zoning Ordinance Section 5.58 dated 9/25/2025 and to direct the Township Planning Consultant to update the Zoning Ordinance Book with all approved amendments, revisions, and deletions to date.  Upon a roll call vote, all ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, seconded by Luick, to approve the response letter to the City of Chelsea regarding their Master Plan as submitted and to authorize the Supervisor, Clerk, and Planning Commission to sign and deliver to the City of Chelsea.  All ayes.  Motion passed. 

Motion by Luick, seconded by McKenzie, to authorize the Supervisor to sign the WCRC Proposal dated 9/25/2025 for additional forestry work in Lima Township. All ayes.  Motion passed. 

Motion by McKenzie, seconded by Luick, to appoint Ann Kwaske, Elizabeth Sensoli, and Ron Howdyshell to the Joint Municipal Planning Commission (JPC) for the Economic Development Project Area (EDPA) created with the 425 agreement with Sylvan Township, with terms effective immediately through the end of their current term on their respective Board/Planning Commission.  All ayes.  Motion passed. 

Motion by McKenzie, seconded by VanRiper, to table action on Chelsea Update support until further information is gathered.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, seconded by Luick, to table action on the Township Planner.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, seconded by McKenzie, to have the Town Hall Quilt rehung under the supervision of Bonnie Mulliner.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Havens, seconded by Luick, to adjourn.  All ayes.  Motion passed.
