Lima Twp:  Notice of Adoption of Consumers Energy Franchise Ordinance

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 14, 2025, the Township of Lima Board of Trustees adopted an ordinance renewing the Consumers Energy Gas Franchise. A synopsis of the ordinance is as follows:

Utility Franchise: The ordinance grants to Consumers Energy a revocable franchise to operate a public utility providing natural gas service throughout the Township, and to use the Township’s public places and streets for that purpose for a period of thirty (30) years. The ordinance contains other provisions concerning indemnification of the Township, extension of the system, Michigan Public Service Commission jurisdiction, and other provisions.

Effective Date: The ordinance will become effective December 1, 2025.
