NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of Lima Township, County of Washtenaw that a Special Election will be held in Lima Township on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the following location:
Precinct 1: Lima Township Hall, 11452 Jackson Road, Dexter, MI 48130
for the purpose of voting on the following proposals:
- CHELSEA AREA FIRE AUTHORITY MILLAGE PROPOSAL, to authorize CAFA to levy 0.75 mill for the purpose of providing funds for all purposes authorized by statute and law, including operating and equipping the Chelsea Area Fire Authority, for a period of 3 years, from 2026 through 2028.
- WASHTENAW INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPOSAL, to permit the WISD to levy 1 mill for the purpose of establishing an area career and technical education program to encourage the operation of area career and technical education programs, for a period of 10 years, from 2026 through 2035.
- LIMA TOWNSHIP CITIZEN-INITIATED MARIHUANA ORDINANCE AMENDMENT PROPOSAL, to direct the Lima Township board to amend Township Ordinance 33 which currently prohibits commercial marihuana establishments, and to allow for 2 Retailer, 2 Class C Grower, 2 Microbusiness, 2 Processor, 2 Safety Compliance Facility, and 2 Secure Transporter marihuana establishments in the Township.

Registered voters may obtain an application for an absent voter ballot from the Lima Township Clerk’s office. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities. Voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille if requested of the Clerk in advance of the election.
