NOTICE OF ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A VARIANCE REQUEST
Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the following variance request.
The applicant, Mr. David Lewis, on behalf of the property owners, Janet and Anthony DeOrio, is requesting a 1.5-foot variance from the minimum 2-foot setback from side property lines for residential driveways, as required by Article V, Section 5.12.D.1, of the City of Dexter Zoning Ordinance, in order to construct an 8-foot-wide residential driveway at 7820 Fourth Street, Dexter, MI 48130 (08-08-06-109-003).
The applicant is requesting the variance due to practical difficulties associated with the property. If granted, an 8-foot-wide residential driveway setback 1/2-foot from each side property line would be allowed.
The application is available for public inspection at the City Offices, 3515 Broad Street, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on the city website, www.dextermi.gov. Any questions regarding the variance application should be directed to the Office of Community Development at 734-580-2235.
Interested parties are welcome to join the virtual public hearing and present their comments. Written comments regrinding the variance request should be submitted to the Office of Community Development at the address listed above or via email to [email protected]. All written comments must be received no later than close of business the day of the meeting. A sign language interpreter, or other assistance, may be provided upon request to the City Clerk [email protected], at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
