Equality Chelsea was selected to receive the latest Impact Award from 100 Women Who Care–Chelsea Area during the organization’s second meeting of 2026, held June 2 at the Chelsea Depot.
The evening began with a social hour and networking session, followed by presentations from three nonprofit organizations: On The Tracks, the Chelsea Education Foundation and Equality Chelsea. Each organization was given 10 minutes to present its mission, provide an overview of its services and answer questions from members.
Following the presentations, members voted to determine which 501(c)(3) organization would receive the Impact Award. Equality Chelsea was chosen as the recipient of the $12,600 award.
Kate Mehuron, a representative of Equality Chelsea, received the award, saying, “We promise to be good stewards of the money we were awarded. This funding will help Equality Chelsea in transformative ways, and help support us in developing and providing life-altering, life-saving supports for LGBTQ people in our community.”
Member contributions from the June meeting totaled nearly $13,000, bringing the organization’s cumulative donations to nonprofit organizations since its founding to more than $230,000, including matching grants.
The next 100 Women Who Care–Chelsea Area meeting is scheduled for Oct. 6. Individuals interested in joining the giving circle can complete a membership form online or attend the next impact meeting.
