Voter registration for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election

Clerk’s office hours for receiving registration applications are:

  • Mondays 9:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Wednesdays by appointment
  • Thursdays 9:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Saturday, Aug. 1 ONLY: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug 2 ONLY: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This August ballot includes Democratic or Republican candidate Primary selections for the State offices of: Governor, US Senator, Representative in congress 6th District, State Senator 14th District, Representative in State Legislature 46th, 47th, or 48th Districts, and Delegate to County Convention.  This ballot also includes 3 Proposals: Chelsea School District Operating Millage Renewal Proposal that is asking for a renewal of 19.1437 mills for 6 years; The Chelsea School District Sinking Fund Millage Proposal asking for 0.8985 mills for 10 years; and The Washtenaw County Community College Operating Millage Renewal Proposal asking for a renewal of 0.85 mills for 10 years.  For the full language on all of these proposals and a full list of candidates visit the Washtenaw County Clerk’s Election website https://www.washtenaw.org/4448/Current-Election-Information.

Voters may register to vote, request their absent voter ballot, and check their polling place location at Michigan.gov/Vote. Voter registrations may be submitted at the Township Clerk’s office, Washtenaw Conty Clerk’s office, or any Secretary of State’s branch office 15 or more days before the election.  Any registrations 14 days or fewer before the election must be completed in-person at the Township Clerk’s office.

Persons with special needs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the clerk’s office. To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the Township Clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities. Published in compliance with MCL 168.498(2) of Michigan Election Law.
