Notice of Adoption

Please take notice that on June 16, 2026 the Township Board of Webster Township adopted Ordinance No. 26-21, which amends the Webster Township Zoning Ordinance to enact a one (1) year moratorium on the permitting, consideration, approval, location, erection, construction, and/or installation of Data Centers and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the Township in order to allow appropriate time to study and potentially adopt revised regulations governing Data Centers and BESS land uses. Copies of the Ordinance may be obtained from Tonie Brovont, Webster Township Clerk, at 5665 Webster Church Rd Dexter, MI 48130 during regular business hours.

The Zoning Ordinance Amendment has the following sections, which are summarized below: Section 1: Findings; Section 2: Amendment to Zoning Ordinance section 12.120; Section 3: Severability, Form, and Repealer, and Section 4: Effective Date, which is seven days upon publication of this notice of adoption unless referendum procedures are initiated.
