The Lima Township Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing for proposed amendments to the Lima Township Zoning Ordinance in accordance with the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended. The proposed text amendments provide definitions for data and computer processing center (“data center”) uses, modify the zoning district where data centers may be permitted, identify data centers as special land uses, to provide supplementary regulations for data centers, and provide standards for review of requests by interested parties to amend the Township’s adopted Future Land Use map or Master Plan. The proposed amendments will include amendments to Section 2.2 (Definitions) and Section 4.5.14, 4.5.15, and 4.5.17 (Zoning District Regulations – R-O, Research Office, LI – Light Industrial, and VC – Village Commercial), the addition of Section 5.59 (General Provisions and Supplementary Regulations – Data Processing and Computer Centers), and Modifications to Article 14 (Amendments).
The zoning text amendments will be considered by the Lima Township Planning Commission on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Meeting to be held at the Lima Township Hall located at 11452 Jackson Rd, Dexter, MI 48130.
