London Township is asking the community to help bring a new playground to life.
Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 28, through Saturday, May 30, at London Township Hall, 13613 Tuttlehill Road in Milan. The greatest need is Saturday, May 30, when the community will come together to complete the build.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The new playground is a kid-designed, community-built project supported by London Township, the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation and KABOOM! Local children shared ideas for their dream playspace, and those ideas helped shape the final design.
Volunteers must be of legal working age or older. The build will take place rain or shine, and volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that can get dirty. Water, snacks, gloves and masks will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring a refillable water bottle.
Community members can register by contacting London Township Supervisor Penny Turner at 734-215-7942 or [email protected].
