A new business being proposed on Jackson Road wants to offer customers a first-class golfing experience that is unmatched in terms of quality and convenience by combining cutting-edge simulation technology with easy access and community focus.
Called the Back Nine, the business plan and its request went before the Scio Township Planning Commission on June 8 looking for a conditional land use request. The Planning Commission gave its approval, so the plan will now go before the Township Board of Trustees.
The applicant is a Stephen Napolitan, who is requesting a Conditional land use approval – indoor recreation (indoor golf simulators).
According to the township planner, the applicant is “requesting conditional use approval to operate an indoor commercial recreation business within an existing multi-tenant structure located at 5899 Jackson Road.”
The proposed location of the suite at 5863 (Jackson Road) was previously held by Binson’s Medical Equipment and Supplies. The suite is currently vacant. The applicant wants to operate a 3,900 square-foot franchise indoor golf simulator business called The Back Nine.
The location does not propose serving food or alcohol, nor would it function as a bar or restaurant.
Here is part of the business plan overview:
“The Back Nine franchise is an exclusive indoor golf club and training facility with a focus on membership. It provides private instruction, game enhancement, and fitness-oriented practice sessions utilizing advanced Full Swing™ simulators licensed by the PGA TOUR. As a local small business investment, The Back Nine delivers substantial community benefits, fosters partnerships with area golf professionals and courses, and ensures residents have year-round opportunities for health, recreation, and skill development.”
“The Back Nine distinguishes itself through its adaptable access model. Public tee times will be available during regular business hours (anticipated from 6am-9pm Sunday through Thursday and 6am-11pm Friday and Saturday), permitting non-members to utilize the facility…”
