| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer stopped a vehicle for a routine traffic violation. The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver of the vehicle. The officer noted an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Upon questioning, the driver admitted to consuming alcohol and having open alcohol containers inside the vehicle. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and perform some standard field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, the officer determined that there was enough probable cause to place the driver under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was identified as an 18-year-old Ann Arbor woman. The case remains open pending laboratory analysis by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab to determine the level of intoxication and warrant submission and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges will be authorized. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Main Street regarding a report of a potential fraud victim who had been attempting to withdraw a large sum of money. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with the parties involved. The complainant reported that the victim was possibly being scammed and was being requested to withdraw the money under false pretenses. The bank withdrawal was temporarily delayed and the incident was turned over to the investigator’s office for further follow-up and investigation. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers had been checking the area for an adult male subject who had reportedly gone voluntarily missing earlier in the day and had not returned home. Officers observed a vehicle matching the description and confirmed it was being driven by the missing man. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and activated their emergency lights, but the driver failed to pull over. The officer continued to follow the subject and noted that the driver was driving in a manner indicating he may be under the influence. The vehicle veered into the oncoming lane of traffic and veered off the roadway, striking a utility pole. Officers made contact with the driver and requested medical services for an evaluation. At the conclusion of the medical evaluation, the officer conducted some standard field sobriety tests, and at the conclusion of the tests, it was determined that the suspect, identified as a 62-year-old Chelsea man, would be placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. The case remains open pending laboratory analysis by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab to determine the level of intoxication and warrant submission and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges will be authorized. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer observed a male subject walking on foot who was known to be wanted for several misdemeanor warrants. Officers located the subject in the 1100 block of S. Main Street and attempted to make contact with the suspect, identified as a 34-year-old Chelsea Man. As the officers made contact with the suspect, he became noncompliant and began struggling with them. After a short struggle with the suspect, officers were able to subdue him and place the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to the Chelsea Police Department for processing and then transported to the Washtenaw County Jail. The case was submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review. A two-count warrant for Resisting & Obstructing an Officer was authorized and signed. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Main Street for the report of a larceny from a building. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the manager of the premises, who stated that earlier in the day she found that a large art panel that had been hung in the restroom of the business had been taken off the wall and stolen. The complainant stated that sometime between 12:40 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., there was a small group of patrons in the business, and while she was tending to their needs, she heard someone open the rear door, enter the restroom, and leave the business shortly thereafter. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information available. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Park Street regarding a harassment complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met the complainant, who stated that an unknown suspect had been leaving unwanted items near their doorstep and writing unwanted messages on the side of their vehicle. The complainant went on to state that the harassment began approximately 2 months ago and had recently been occurring on a more frequent basis. The case was turned over to the investigator for additional follow-up and investigation. | ||
