| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers responded to the 100 block of S. Main Street for a request for extra patrol in the area. Officers were advised that the complainant had stated that there were four subjects inside the place of business, and they were possibly engaged in fraudulent activities. Upon arrival at the area, officers observed three subjects leaving the location who matched the caller’s description. Approximately 5 minutes later, the complainant approached the officers and led them to the location where one of the remaining subjects was standing nearby. Officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that the remaining subject was suspected of purchasing merchandise with a credit card that did not belong to him. The officer approached the subject and detained him while the investigation continued and statements were gathered. At the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect, identified as a 20-year-old Ohio man, was arrested on one count of credit card fraud. The suspect was transported to the Chelsea Police Department, where he was processed, then transported to the Washtenaw County Jail, where he will be held pending submission of the warrant and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s office to determine whether charges will be authorized. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Main Street regarding a report of a counterfeit U.S. banknote that had been discovered. Upon arrival, the officer met with the staff, who stated that counterfeit currency had been discovered while reviewing the store’s daily receipts. The counterfeit currency was logged, and the United States Secret Service was contacted. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was notified of a fraud complaint. The officer made contact with the complainant, who stated they had received a notification from a financial institution about an account opened in the complainant’s name. The complainant stated that they did not authorize the financial institution to create an account and believed the account had been fraudulently opened. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information available. The case was turned over to the investigator’s officer for any further investigation. | ||

| INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers were advised to be on the lookout for a white Chevy SUV heading north on Main Street that was failing to maintain their lane and possibly under the influence of alcohol. The officer located the vehicle driving northbound on and initiated a stop on the vehicle in the 700 block of N. Main Street. The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver. After speaking with the driver and gathering a statement regarding the events that led to the traffic stop, the officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and perform some standard field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, the officer determined that there was enough probable cause to place the suspect under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was identified as a 47-year-old Howell woman. The suspect was processed and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail. The case remains open pending laboratory analysis by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab to determine the level of intoxication and warrant review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office. | ||
