Wylie Elementary School is a wonderful place for education and learning in large part because of Principal Katie See. She is being honored for her leadership and commitment to students.

See has been named the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association Region 2 Principal of the Year.
This award is designed to recognize outstanding principals whose contributions to the profession are exemplary and recognized by their peers and communities alike.

“Katie See is one of the best principals I’ve ever seen, and I am grateful every day knowing she’s leading her school in Dexter,” Dexter Community Schools Superintendent Chris Timmis said in an announcement about the award.

This award honors principals who have exhibited extraordinary leadership, commitment to their students and faculty, service to their communities and contributions to the overall profession, including their professional associations. She was chosen by her colleagues in Livingston, Monroe and Washtenaw Counties.

See will receive her award and be recognized at the MEMSPA Annual Conference in December 2024.

Mrs. See has been an educator in the Dexter Community Schools for over 20 years. Before becoming the principal of Wylie Elementary School, she was a teacher at Cornerstone Elementary and Wylie Elementary. She has bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in K-12 Administration from Michigan State University.
